Yun Bai

Geotechnical Engineering Practice Lead

Yun Bai is a Lead Associate Engineer with over 15 years of research and industry experience. She has a background in geomechanics and has been extensively involved in tunnel primary and permanent support design, constructability and sequence optimization, provision of tunnel construction phase services, instrumentation and monitoring, and 2D and 3D numerical modeling for both underground structures and support of surface excavations, with a focus on ground-structure interaction. She has also worked on a wide range of geological and geotechnical investigation and ground characterization, slope stability, earthworks, and foundation design projects in Australasia.

Yun holds a PhD in Geomechanics and a BE in Civil Engineering from the University of New South Wales. She is a Chartered Professional Engineer in Geotechnical and Civil Engineering with Engineers Australia and a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland.
