William Edgerton

Principal Engineer

William (Bill) Edgerton has 55 years of practical, heavy construction experience. He is an industry-recognized leader across all aspects of underground projects, with special expertise in delivery methods, contract language, and risk mitigation. He has authored and edited books and publications on contractual aspects of underground projects that have been widely adopted by the industry. His experience in the field, including roles as project engineer, construction manager, and project manager, has developed his management skills across a variety of project types: rapid transit systems, water and wastewater conveyance systems, dams, power plants, highways, bridges, and marine construction.

During his 38 years with Jacobs Associates/​Delve Underground, Bill has supervised the design of tunnel and deep cut-and-cover projectsand has developed technical expertise in estimating and analyzing construction costs and schedules, preparing feasibility studies, and generating cost-effective construction specifications. His resume includes DC Clean Rivers CSO Program, LA Metro’s Purple Line Extension Segment 2 CM, Sound Transit’s University Link, SFMTA’s Central Subway PM/CM, Puerto Rico Highway & Transportation Authority’s Tren Urbano Subway, Seattle’s Brightwater Conveyance, San Bernardino’s Inland Feeder, and Los Angeles’ Northeast Interceptor Sewer projects.
