Victor Romero

President/CEO

Victor Romero is a principal engineer with more than 30 years of underground design and construction experience, predominantly in the rail transit, highway, water supply, and wastewater sectors. He joined the company in 1991 and held company leadership positions in design, construction management, business development, and regional management before becoming president. He has served as project manager and project director on numerous large underground projects, and his technical experience includes deep shaft design; pipe jacking and trenchless methods; initial ground support and lining design for tunnels; grouting for tunnels; excavation with hard-rock and soft-ground tunnel boring machines; tunnel rehabilitation; temporary excavation support design; and building protection. He is also an industry-recognized expert for the sequential excavation method (SEM).

Victor holds an MS in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a BS in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He is a registered Professional Engineer in California and 14 other United States jurisdictions, a Certified Engineering Geologist in California, and is a Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand.
