Structural Engineering Practice Lead - East

Tom Hennings is a principal engineer with 32 years of structural design experience. Over 25 of those years have been spent specializing in underground projects, including tunnels (bored and mined) and deep excavation support systems. Tom’s 16 years with Delve Underground have culminated in his structural design leadership on some of the firm’s key projects in the central and east regions of the United States. Tom has been involved in delivering light and heavy rail transit, highway transit, water conveyance, and combined sewer overflow infrastructure projects. His expertise ranges across several specialties, including design of temporary shoring, structural retrofit/​upgrade, inspection assessment and rehabilitation, and permanent structures. 

Tom holds an MS in Structural Engineering from Purdue University and a BS in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Michigan, New Hampshire, Vermont, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, District of Columbia, Rhode Island, and Ontario, Canada. He also maintains his FHWA-NHI 130110 Tunnel Safety Inspection certification.
