Renée Fippin

Tunnels and Underground Engineering Practice Lead

Renée Fippin is a principal engineer with more than 24 years of experience in geotechnical and structural engineering. This includes detailed design analysis, project planning, project management for multidisciplinary teams, design team management, and construction. She has a thorough background in the design of shafts and tunnels, and with investigation and evaluation of new tunnels and existing tunnels for rehabilitation. Her technical expertise includes tunnel design, structural and geotechnical design, excavation shoring and deep shaft design, tieback design, soil nail design, cutter soil mixing, and ground improvement design. Her combined geotechnical investigation and detailed design experience has given her unique insights to understand how to efficiently plan a project from initial to final design phases.

Renée holds a BS in Engineering Physics from Miami University. She is a registered Geotechnical Engineer in California, and a registered Professional Engineer in the states of California, Massachusetts, North Dakota, and New York.
