Mark Funkhouser has over 37 years of consulting experience in the geotechnical and rock mechanics technical arena. Mark has primarily consulted for the transportation and hydropower market sectors in various roles for major underground projects, most of which have been developed by the design-build delivery method. His technical expertise includes project management, technical leadership, underground excavations, rock mechanics, geotechnics, and tunneling. Mark has been a practice leader in rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering and is frequently involved as a technical reviewer, project manager, and program director on complex underground engineering projects.

Mark holds a BS in Civil Engineering and an MS in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Texas, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
