Haochen Zhao

Senior Staff Engineer

Haochen Zhao is a doctoral graduate in mining engineering from West Virginia University with 7 years of experience, specializing in underground rock mechanics and numerical modeling. He has broad knowledge in the areas of geotechnical engineering, construction evaluation, and design. Haochen has previously held engineering internships with Gall Zeidler Consultants and Edgar Experimental Mine, performing various risk evaluation, data analysis, and geotechnical engineering tasks. His recent research projects focused on ground control and rock mechanics, and as part of his PhD studies, he examined the effects of overburden characteristics on ground control.
